Privacy Policy

1. General

Protecting your data is very important to us. We treat your personal information confidentially and in accordance with legal data protection regulations (GDPR & Swiss DSG).

2. Data Collection

We collect the data you enter or upload when using Scan2Help.me – in particular information for your emergency profile (e.g. medical notes, emergency contacts, or an optional recognition photo to help helpers identify you). For your user account we also process e.g. name, email address and, where necessary, billing data. If you sign in with Facebook or Google, the additional details in “Sign-in with Facebook and Google” apply. Transmission is SSL encrypted.

3. Sign-in with Facebook and Google (social login)

You may optionally register or sign in with Facebook (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd., 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland) or Google (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Scan2Help.me then receives from the provider only the data permitted by your settings and the login flow: for Facebook, your Facebook ID, name and, if you allow access, your email address; for Google, your Google ID, name and email address. We use this solely to create or sign you in to your user account, match existing accounts via email, and authenticate you. We do not post automatically to your networks and we do not analyse your friends or contacts graph. Data is stored on our systems operated in Switzerland while your account is active; after account deletion, the retention rules under “Your Rights” apply.

Processing by Facebook/Meta and Google is governed by their own privacy policies: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy and https://policies.google.com/privacy We recommend reading them before using social login.

4. Use of Your Data

We use the data solely to provide Scan2Help.me (emergency profile, user account, support) and to process payments or subscriptions. We share data with third parties only where required by law, where you have consented, or where necessary to perform the contract (e.g. payment service providers).

5. Hosting & Security

Our servers are located in Switzerland and are ISO-certified. Access is restricted to authorized personnel.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict your data at any time. You may also object to its processing.

7. Cookies & Tracking

We do not use personalized tracking tools. Only technically necessary cookies are used.

9. Emergency page: optional location (geolocation)

If you use optional information about the nearest 24/7 defibrillator on the emergency page, your browser may request an approximate location once to compute distances on your device. Scan2Help.me does not transmit this location to our servers and does not store it; processing happens locally in your browser. If you deny permission or stop the search, you can use external services (e.g. Defikarte); their providers’ privacy policies apply. If you open map or navigation links (e.g. Google Maps), those third parties’ terms apply.
